Bahraich. A crocodile entered the house of a person in Julahanpurwa village of Kotwali Nanpara area on Wednesday. When the people of the family came to know about it, there was a stir. At the same time, the matter was informed to the forest department officials and the police. After this, the team of the forest department arrived, rescued the crocodile from the house and released it in the Saryu river. Even before this, there are frequent incidents of crocodiles entering the homes of villagers living in jungle villages.

A crocodile entered the house of Ramzan, a resident of the village, after coming out of the canal near the village on Wednesday morning in Julahan Purwa of Itha’s Gram Panchayat of the area. There was not even a clue of entering the house of a seven-feet-length crocodile. The family members were sleeping, but on seeing the crocodile, the dogs started barking. Hearing the sound of barking dogs continuously, the family members broke their sleep.
Crocodile was hiding behind the bike
As soon as the family members came out of the room in the apprehension of something untoward, they started looking here and there by using a torch, everyone was shocked to see the giant crocodile in the verandah. Seeing the people, the crocodile hid near the wall behind the bike parked in the verandah. On raising the noise other villagers gathered. Along with informing the forest department officials about the incident, the local police were also informed.
Crocodile was weighing two and a half quintals
As soon as the information was received, Ranger Rashid Jameel reached the spot along with the team of forest personnel. After about three hours of hard work, the forest workers caught the crocodile with the help of the villagers. The ranger said that the caught crocodile has been released safely in the Saryu river of Gaighat. He told that the crocodile was about seven feet long and weighed two and a half quintals.
