Prayagraj: In the Sangam city of Prayagraj, such an incident happened with a girl student, due to which she stopped breathing after about a month. Ritika Srivastava, a BA student living in Naini, was coming home from Vikram (auto) college, when some people sitting in Vikram saw Ritika alone and started snatching her jewellery. When Ritika protested, the miscreants snatched the jewelery and pushed her from the moving Vikram. Due to which Ritika fell on the middle road. In this incident, Ritika suffered a serious head injury and she went into a coma. About a month after the incident, during treatment, Ritika’s breathing stopped on Wednesday night.
Police swung into action after CCTV surfaced
The family members of the student are quite shocked by this incident. He says that in the auto, the miscreants had beaten Ritika earlier and after snatching the goods pushed her from the auto. In this case, only the driver of the auto, Ajay Kumar, has been caught so far. After the incident, the family members of Ritika had filed a case against the unknown at Naini police station. After the death of the student, when the CCTV footage came to the fore, the police swung into action, hurriedly traced Vikram used in the crime, but the miscreant who carried out the incident is still out of the police’s grip.
Allegations of negligence on the police
Police say that CCTV footage and other points are being investigated. Strict action will be taken by arresting the accused. The victim’s family tried themselves to find the CCTV in which Vikram can be seen throwing the girl. After the death of Ritika, the family members have also demanded action against the police personnel who were negligent in the investigation, on which SP Yamunapar Saurabh Dixit has assured action after investigating.
