At the same time, VVS Laxman, who was made interim coach of the team after Rahul Dravid joined the team, will soon leave from Dubai.
Rahul Dravid’s Kovid test came positive on 21 August, two days before Team India left for Dubai. He was in home isolation at his Bengaluru residence, but as soon as his two RT-PCR tests came negative, the BCCI made arrangements to bring him to Dubai on Saturday night. According to Inside Sports, Rahul Dravid will be in the Indian dressing room to guide Team India for the match against Pakistan today. By the way, after the return of Dravid, Laxman will stay for this match or whether he will return from there, it is not clear yet.
Let us tell you that VVS Laxman was made the interim coach of the team for the Asia Cup 2022 only after Rahul Dravid was found to be Kovid positive. It was believed that Dravid would join the team till the Super Four stage, but he had already recovered. Before the Asia Cup, Rahul Dravid took a two-week break after the West Indies series. Along with Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathor and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey were also rested for the Zimbabwe tour. At the same time, VVS Laxman along with Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Sairaj Bahule went with Team India on the Zimbabwe tour as coach. However, after Dravid’s test positive, Laxman went straight to Dubai and took command of Team India’s practice.
