Sultanpur. Big action was taken here against the henchmen of infamous mafia Mukhtar Ansari of Purvanchal. His assets worth Rs 3 crore 89 lakh were confiscated. There was a stir throughout the day regarding this action of the police. On the orders of District Magistrate Ravish Gupta, Additional Superintendent of Police Vipul Srivastava and Deputy District Magistrate Sadar CP Pathak reached Lelepur village on Friday along with the team. The vehicles and land of village resident miscreant Siraj Ahmed were confiscated. This action was taken under the Gangster Act.
According to the police, Siraj was continuously active in crimes since 2006 and started committing incidents by forming a gang. Notorious Rishu Singh of Kadipur, Saurabh Singh of Akhandnagar, Rahul Dhuria, Ruksar, Israr, Dilshad and Vijay Kumar are considered members of this gang. Additional Superintendent of Police said that land worth three crore 64 lakhs and vehicles worth 25 lakh 78 thousand have been confiscated.
A total of 18 cases are registered against Siraj. He was also arrested under the Goondas Act. His links are also related to Mukhtar Ansari gang. He said that the Deputy Inspector General of Police is constantly reviewing the action being taken against goons, mafia and criminals. In this sequence, this action was taken.
Other gang members also on the radar: ASP said that after obtaining details about other members of the Siraj gang, action will be taken to confiscate the property acquired through crime. He said that even before this, properties worth crores of miscreants of Baldi Rai and Lambhua areas have been attached. The people of the society are feeling relaxed due to the continuous action taken against the miscreants included in the list of top ten criminals. In addition, crimes have also been curbed.
