New Delhi. Ind vs WI 2nd T20I: Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team played the second match of the five-match T20 series against West Indies at Warner Park, St Kitts. In this match, West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss and elected to bowl first. India were invited to bat first and the team was thrashed for 138 runs in 19.4 overs in front of the Caribbean bowlers. West Indies had to score 139 runs for victory and this team scored 141 for 5 in 19.2 overs on the basis of 68 runs from Brandon King and won the match by 5 wickets. In the five-match T20 series, both the teams are now tied at 1-1. McCoy was awarded the Player of the Match title for his excellent bowling.
West Indies innings, King scored a half-century
The first blow to the West Indies, Hardik Pandya got Kyle Meyers caught by Ashwin for 8 runs. Captain Nicholas Pooran scored 14 runs and he lost his wicket off Ashwin’s delivery. Hetmyer was dismissed for 6 by Jadeja. Brandon King made 68 off 52 balls and was dismissed by Avesh Khan. Pavel was bowled by Arshdeep Singh for 5. After this Thomas scored an unbeaten 31 runs and Smith scored an unbeaten 4 runs to give victory to his team.
India’s innings, captain Rohit out on a duck
India had a poor start and captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a golden duck in the very first ball of the first innings. Suryakumar Yadav also got out after scoring 11 runs in 6 balls. Shreyas Iyer, who was dismissed for a duck in the first match, lost his wicket for 10 runs. Rishabh Pant played a quick 24 runs in 12 balls with the help of 2 sixes and a four, but was caught by Aqeel Hussain. Hardik Pandya scored 31 runs off 31 balls and was dismissed by Jason Holder. Ravindra Jadeja scored 27 runs with the help of a six and was caught out.
Dinesh Karthik could not walk in this match and he played an innings of 7 runs facing 13 balls. While R Ashwin got 10 runs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got out after scoring just one run. While Avesh Khan lost his wicket after scoring 8 runs, Arshdeep Singh remained unbeaten on one run. For West Indies, McCoy took 6 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs.
