Amroha. In Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, the administration on Saturday bulldozed a madrasa. The madrasa was located in the village of Jebra of Hasanpur tehsil of the district. There was a dispute going on in the madrasa over the Friday prayers. Also this village was built on the land of the society. Whereas the manager of the madrasa says that it is built on the land of his ancestors. On the other hand, the administration says that the madrasa has been demolished only after investigation.
On Saturday, the administration, along with the police force, has demolished the madrassa built on the land of village society in village Jebra Mustakam of Rahra police station area of Hasanpur circle by running a bulldozer (backhoe loader). It is being told that the madrasa was operating for the last several years. But a few months ago, non-sectarian people came out in protest after offering congregational prayers in the madrasa. The administration had called both the parties to the police station and instructed them not to offer congregational prayers without any permission.
On the other hand, the villagers had alleged that the land where the madrasa has been built belongs to the village society. After investigation, the Tehsil administration along with the circle police force on Saturday demolished the building of the madrasa. On the other hand, the manager of the madrasa, Ishtiaq Ahmed, says that the madrasa is built on the land of his ancestors. In the year 1961, the land was given to him by cutting a slip from the village society in the name of his grandfather Kader Baksh.
He says that the madrasa was being run after registering as per the rules. SDM Sudhir Kumar told that the madrassa was operating in the land of the village society. People of other sects were protesting for offering mass prayers without permission. After investigation, the madrassa being run in the land of the village society has been demolished.
