Lucknow. Samajwadi Party national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that he will not contest the next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav is an MP from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat. However, after this statement, party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary denied this and said that the party will now decide whether Akhilesh Yadav will contest this time or not. He had not even contested the last assembly elections.
Azamgarh MP Akhilesh Yadav has said that he is forming alliances with smaller parties. He also said that talks were underway in the final phase on the seats after an alliance between his party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the elections. On the possibility of Uncle Shivpal Yadav’s Progressive Socialist Party Lohia taking part in the elections, he said, “I have no problem with that.” They and their people will be given due respect.
In fact, Akhilesh Yadav wants to keep his full attention on the preparations for the Assembly elections. Perhaps that is why he has decided not to contest the Assembly elections. However, later party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary denied this and said that the party will now decide whether Akhilesh Yadav will contest this time or not.
According to PTI, Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said that he would not contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year. He also said that the alliance between his party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the elections has been finalized. He said that our alliance with RLD is final. Seat sharing is to be finalized.
