Lucknow. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will now investigate the death case of Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad. The team is headed by ASP KS Negi of CBI Special Branch. Late Thursday night, CBI’s Delhi team registered a case and some members of the six-member team reached Prayagraj on Friday evening. Although many CBI officers will come on Saturday, after that the investigation is being said to start. At the same time, before the arrival of the team, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police probing the case was busy preparing its report throughout the day. This report will be submitted to the CBI.
On Monday evening in Prayagraj, the Mahant died in a suspicious condition in a room of Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi. A suicide note was also recovered in his room. Police claim that Mahant committed suicide by hanging himself. But some saints and others had raised questions about the incident, alleging murder. On Monday night itself, a case was registered against Mahant’s disciple Anand Giri on the complaint of Amar Giri at Georgetown police station on charges of abetment to suicide.
The post-mortem report found the cause of death of Mahant to be hanging. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the SSP had constituted an 18-member SIT under the chairmanship of the CO. The SIT has arrested the accused Anand Giri, Adya Prasad Tiwari, priest of Bade Hanuman Mandir, his son Sandeep and sent them to jail. On Wednesday night, the state government had recommended the investigation of this case by the CBI, after which the team of CBI Delhi established the case. He has made the basis of the case registered at Georgetown police station. Some members of the CBI team reached Prayagraj on Friday evening. He met police and administrative officials.
There will be no change in the operation of the Baghambari throne: After the dust rot tradition, there was a long consultation between the Panch Parmeshwar of Sriniranjani Akhara. There was a deep churning on the operation of Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi and its associated schools, temples, ashrams. Mahant Hari Giri, General Secretary of Akhara Parishad was also involved in this. Shri Mahant Ravindra Puri, Secretary of Shri Niranjani Akhara, told that the operation of Baghmbri Gaddi and all the temples and ashrams related to it will be as before. At the same time, the work of Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi and its associated ashrams, temples and schools, which it used to do earlier, will continue to do the same. Panch Parmeshwar of Shri Niranjani Akhara will oversee it, but no one’s work will be interfered with.
Mahatmas accepted the offerings of dust rot: The dust rot tradition was completed on the third day of giving Samadhi to Mahant Narendra Giri, President of All India Akhara Parishad. The Mahatmas worshiped at Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi and took the offerings of dust rot. With this, the process of making food in the Baghmbri Gaddi will start. Since the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, fire was not being lit in the Math. For the people living in the monastery, food was prepared from the Ananda Akhara.
