Kidney diseases are often called ‘silent killers’. The reason for this is that most people ignore its symptoms and cannot feel its silent (latent) signs until the disease reaches the advanced stage. While most people do not have accurate information about kidney function, it is important to note that these bean-shaped organs play an important role in filtering out the waste materials of the human body.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the incidence of kidney cancer in India is 10,354 for men and 6507 for women. Also, the risk of this generally increases with aging, so people suffering from kidney cancer are mostly in the age group of 50-70 years.
Here are some of the early signs of kidney cancer that should not be ignored:
Bleeding with urine: Although this symptom is also seen due to urinary tract infection, but most people suffering from kidney cancer also bleed with urine. If such a symptom appears, get it treated by a doctor.
Back pain: Pain is experienced in one side of the back, although it is not related to any injury or injury. If you experience such a sign, be sure to examine the body.
Fatigue: Fatigue can be experienced due to the lack of red blood cells. Although fatigue may be a minor issue for most people, the fatigue associated with cancer is different. Fatigue due to cancer can be different from general fatigue. In patients with the initial signs of kidney cancer, there is no secretion of the necessary hormone erythropoietin, which produces red blood cells from their kidneys. Also, cancer-prone cells produce toxic substances in the body, affecting the normal function of the cells.
Loss of hunger: In case of complaint of hunger for a long period of time, do an investigation.
Persistent Fever: If a person experiences persistent fever without a cold and cough, he should contact the doctor. Remember, when fever occurs, the body’s immune system competes fiercely with the associated bacteria, viruses, or sometimes even tumors. In the event of weakening resistance, one will experience persistent fever.
Swelling on the ankles: When excess fluid coming out of the body stops coming out, swelling of the legs and ankles is experienced. Many times, due to kidney tumors, excess body fluid is not allowed to come out of the body.
Unnecessary weight loss: If body weight starts to decrease unnecessarily without any exercise or hard work, then it can be a worrying condition and it can be a silent symptom of kidney cancer. Weight loss starts after a period of time due to fatigue and loss of appetite.
Kidney cancer is very aggressive and progresses rapidly when it reaches advanced stage. Treatment for kidney cancer depends on its marked stage. Survival and recovery of people suffering from stage 1 kidney cancer has been shown to be significantly better than those with advanced stage. If kidney cancer is detected after reaching advanced stage, then overall survival is affected. Therefore, it is important to know the silent symptoms of your body.
