The State Government has a special focus on cleanliness and cleanliness of the National River Ganga. In view of all this, the Chief Minister has requested the Center for help in septage management schemes in 14 other urban areas adjoining Ganga. Toilets under septage management are constructed and connected to the sewer line available within 30 meters. In the absence of a sewer line, the toilet is connected to two pits or the OSS (Onsite Sanitation System). During his stay in Delhi, Chief Minister Rawat urged Union Minister of State for Urban Development Hardeep Puri to keep 90 percent centrally in the proposed schemes for the state under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. He also said that 35% of the Viability Gap funding is permissible in the Mission as a solid waste management plan. In view of the difficult conditions and limited resources of the state, it is necessary to consider 90 percent.
Legacy West’s proposals should also be approved
The Chief Minister also drew the attention of the Union Minister towards the problem of legacy West (old suffixed garbage) accumulated in urban areas for years. It urged that the proposals of Legacy West for cities with population less than one lakh should also be approved in the Swachh Bharat Mission. The Chief Minister also said that it is necessary to set up construction and demolition waste management plants in the cities of the state. In the first phase, these plants can be set up in all district headquarters and municipal corporations. The Chief Minister also requested to sanction funds for this under the Swachh Bharat Mission or Centrally Funded Special Scheme.
