New Delhi. China’s army has begun evacuating the Finger Four area on the northern bank of Pangong Lake. He has started demolishing the construction done in this area. The retreat of the Chinese military is being done as per the agreement between India and China. The Chinese army had infiltrated the status quo last year and changed the status quo. It is worth mentioning that according to the agreement reached between the two countries on reversing the forces, China has to move its army in front of Finger at the Sirzap post. Whereas India has to return to its outpost Dhan Singh Thapa, situated between Finger Two-Three.
Exercise to rear the forces that are happening according to agreement
It has been India’s advance post for many years. Along with this, the armies of both countries will temporarily stop patrolling and other activities. The shape of the mountain on the banks of Pangong Lake is such that it looks like fingers. That is why they are called finger. Their number is eight. While India claims to be its territory till Finger at, China has raised controversy over the claim to Finger Four. The eight-kilometer distance between Finger 4 and Finger 8 on the northern bank of Pangong Lake has led to several confrontations between the two armies.
Chinese Army Finger Eight and India’s Army will return to Finger Three
A senior government official said that the Finger Four has reduced the number of Chinese soldiers. The Chinese army is also taking out its boats from the lake. China deployed many of its jawans and other equipment south of Lake Finger Four and Pangong to change the status quo on the LAC. Last year, China deployed boats ahead of Finger Eight in the lake due to tensions. The patrols will resume only once the military has retreated and agreed to diplomatic and military negotiations.
To the south of Pangong Lake, where the armies of both the countries were absolutely face to face, the forces have started retreating. Here at some places the tanks of both countries were at a distance of only 100 meters. It is noteworthy that there was a military standoff between the two countries for nearly ten months on Actual Control (LAC). The collision on the northern shore of Pangong Lake began when Chinese troops infiltrated the lake and into the coast in May last year. Gradually it collided and spread to regions. On the southern bank of the lake, India strengthened its strategic position on the hills more than China. This thing remained very unstable to China.
