After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, the England team stopped South Africa for 146 runs. Captain Quinton de Kock scored the most 30 runs from the host team. Apart from this, George Linde scored 29 runs off 20 balls. Even after getting a good start, ahead of England’s tight bowling, South Africa were able to score 146 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the prescribed 20 overs.
Chasing the target, David Malan played a brilliant half-century for England. Malan’s innings took over the English team in trouble and led them to victory. In the last over, the team needed 3 runs to win, which was secured by Chris Jordan on the fifth ball.
Series confirmed with 5th win
This is England’s fifth consecutive win against South Africa in T20 and with this victory, they have captured this series as well. In the first match, England won by 5 wickets while the second match was won by 4 wickets. The last match of the series is to be played on December 1 in Cape Town.
