Prayagraj Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan has received a major setback from the Allahabad High Court. The bail application of Azam Khan, a minister, along with his legislator wife Tanzin Fatima and former MLA son Abdullah, has been rejected by the High Court. A single bench of Justice Sunit Kumar ruled. The Allahabad High Court dismissed the three bail applications filed by both of them after hearing. The court said that the petitioners are influential persons. He has been a minister of all the departments of the state. In such a situation, there can be no denying the possibility of influencing the evidence.
Azam Khan is lodged in the jail for taking possession of government land in Rampur with the inclusion of Waqf’s property in Johar University and forging a fake age certificate for his son. He is accompanied by his MLA wife and former MLA son in Sitapur Jail.
After hearing the petition filed on his bail, the Allahabad High Court reserved the decision on 19 November. The court has given a big shock to son Abdullah Azam Khan with Mohammad Azam Khan, SP MP from Rampur. The court reserved the verdict on 19 November after the two sides concluded their arguments on the bail application. Azam Khan is accused of making a pancard and passport based on the fake birth certificate of Abdullah Azam. Azam Khan is charged with his former MLA son in this big fraud. Azam Khan, along with his legislator wife Dr Tazin and son Abdullah Azam Khan are lodged in Sitapur Jail. A case was filed against all these by BJP leader Akash Saxena of Rampur.
Saxena has written a letter to CBI director and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the case of Azam Khan and has accused senior SP leader Azam Khan of seizing Waqf properties in Rampur and manipulating them into the name of Johar University. Saxena has also demanded the CBI to investigate all the Waqf scams of Azam Khan.
