new Delhi. The third 2 + 2 Ministerial level meeting between India and the US will be held in New Delhi today. US Secretary of State Mike Ponpio and Defense Minister Mark Espar, their Indian counterparts S. Jaishankar and Rajnath will hold talks with Singh. It will discuss defense and security relations as well as major regional and global issues. This meeting is taking place at a time when India is facing deadlock on the border with China and the issue is also expected to be discussed.
There is an agreement between India and the United States on the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement on Geospatial Cooperation (BICA). This agreement will facilitate the way for India to get technology related to American cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. At the same time, India will also be able to take sensitive satellite data from America, so that every activity of enemy countries will be closely monitored.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Ponpio on Monday met S Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at the Hyderabad House with US Defense Minister Mark Asper. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed satisfaction at the talks. Mike Ponpio said that relations between the two countries are deepening.
Indian Defense Ministry said, the two ministers expressed satisfaction that ‘Bika’ would be signed during the visit. The US Defense Minister welcomed Australia’s participation in the Malabar military exercise. Apart from this, new areas of cooperation between the armies of the two countries and at the joint level were discussed between the two ministers.
On the other hand, the US State Department has said that India is a regional and international leader. America wants all-round close relations with it to develop. Describing India as a large economy, government policy to encourage entrepreneurship and a large economic power of the world, the US said that both countries share the same opinion about the Indo-Pacific region.
