New Delhi World champion pv. Sindhu had earlier said that she would not participate in the Thomas & Uber Cup this year, but now she has said that she will participate in the tournament to be held from October 3 to 11. Sindhu withdrew her decision at the behest of Badminton Association of India (BAI) President Himanta Viswa Sarma and agreed to play in the tournament. Sindhu had earlier said that she would not play in the tournament due to personal reasons.
“She agreed and decided to do her family show first so that she can be a part of the Indian team and play for her country,” Himanta wrote on Twitter.
Sindhu is currently attending Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad where she is participating in the National Badminton Camp. 26 Indian badminton players are currently participating in the camp.
