new Delhi. The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that before the enactment of the Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005, daughters will have rights over ancestral property even if the stakeholder dies.
The Supreme Court in one of its important orders has said that daughters like sons have equal rights in ancestral property under the amended Hindu Succession Act. The bench of Justice Arun Mishra also said that even if the father had died before the law came into force, the daughter would still have rights over the property.
