Srinagar . More than 500 government employees of Jammu and Kashmir are under investigation and can be dismissed if they are involved in anti-national activities. Official sources informed this on Tuesday. The administration of the Union Territory last week constituted a high level committee to recommend the removal of government employees / officers involved in such activities.
Sources said that about 500 employees / officers are under investigation and action can be taken against them based on the recommendations made by the committee after scrutinizing their previous records.
This high-powered committee is headed by the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, comprising the Secretary of the General Administration Department, Secretary of the Home and Law Department, DGP and ADGP (CID).

This article was not effective because of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. But on August 5 last year, Articles 370 and 35A were removed, after which it became effective.
Under this, officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) will also not be exempted from any punitive action if they are found to be involved in anti-national activity.
