new Delhi. India has blocked the Russian portal that the pro-Khalistan banned group, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) was using for online voter registration for ‘Referendum 2020’ to demand Khalistan.
The SFJ wants a separate homeland for Sikhs.
The agencies say that in view of the activities of the anti-India campaign ‘Referendum 2020’, heavy security arrangements were made in Punjab and their plans were not successful. However the SFJ claims to have distributed 10,000 voter registration forms across the state in a single day.
The SFJ had introduced ‘Referendum 2020’ voter registration through the Russian website WWW PunjabFree dot ru. The Ministry of Home Affairs blocked the site with the help of concerned departments as soon as it came to know about it.
This registration has been started to indicate the participation of the people in the context of the non-official Punjab independence referendum. It appealed to the people of Punjab as well as people of any part of the country to register their vote for people of Sikh or other religions who are 18 years of age or older.
The four July date was chosen by the SFJ for voter registration for Referendum 2020, as the government ordered police to enter the Golden Temple to disperse separatist Sikh activists assembled on the same day in 1955.
Detailed information in English and Punjabi languages was given on the Russia-based website about the registration process. It mentioned three steps for registering votes and also asked to sign-up to receive updates about ‘Referendum 2020’.
The Government of India has prohibited any pro-Khalistan activity. Despite this, the SFJ created a grassroots level plan to ensure that the voter registration form for the Referrandum 2020 reaches every household in Punjab.
An official said that the separatist group failed to get support for the anti-India effort through voter registration for the referendum, as a large number of police vehicles and policemen in plain clothes are trying to violate the peace and law of the country. Were deployed in various areas to thwart.
The separatist group said in a statement that its July 4 voter registration received a tremendous response from the people of Punjab, forcing the Indian government to block access to the Russian portal with a desperate attempt to block the registration of votes. .
Voter registration was announced through a video by US-based militant Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, after which the Punjab Police as well as the central security agencies were in trouble.
The radical group SFJ is provided with money and other necessary support by Pakistan-based operatives to radical Sikh elements in Punjab to carry out subversive activities in India.
The SFJ is led by Avtar Singh Pannu and Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who advocated Khalistan and carried out the online separatist campaign for Referendum 2020.
