Amroha. A man killed his wife in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district on Sunday. The husband allegedly beat his wife to death when his demand of a bike and Rs 3 lakh in dowry was not met.
Sunder, a resident of Baikheda village, was married to Meena two years ago. Meena’s father had been demanding a TVS Apache bike in dowry since the wedding and often harassed her.
Sunder attacked his wife with a stick
Meena was reportedly living at her parents’ house in Soharka since Rakshabandhan. Sundar used to visit her daily and also had dinner with her family.
On Sunday night, he took her back to his house, where he allegedly quarreled with her again over dowry. He then allegedly attacked her with a stick, strangled her and then fled.
Police searching for the accused
Locals informed the police about the matter. After this, Meena’s family members reached the police station and demanded the arrest of the accused. Meena’s father Vijay Khadak Banshi has filed a complaint against Sundar, his mother, sister and four others. Based on the complaint of the family, the police have registered a case and sent the woman’s body for post-mortem. The police is searching for the accused.
