A sensational case has come to light in Gorakhpur where a gangster lodged in the divisional jail played a game while in jail. To avoid confiscation action, he sold his Fortuner car worth Rs 45 lakh from inside the jail. RTO is also under investigation in this matter. On receiving the complaint, the SSP has ordered an investigation.
According to sources, Vikas Kumar Sinha, a resident of Motihari district of Bihar, came to Gorakhpur seven years ago. Initially he lived in a rented house in Shaligram locality of Shahpur police station area and did business of medicines.
After contacting the hospitals, Vikas opened a hospital in Padri Bazaar near the jail. In the name of making them partners in the business, they started extorting money from people and if anyone protested, the women threatened to be implicated in a false rape case. Meanwhile, he met Imtiaz, a resident of Chaksha Hussain of Gorakhpur. Also took Rs 10 lakh from him for stake in business and hospital, but did not make him a partner.

In such a situation, when Chaksha Hussain asked for his money back, a total of five cases including molestation, POCSO Act and rape section were registered against him by some women. After giving the money, Imtiaz started pleading him to save himself because he was embroiled in a lawsuit. Vikas started demanding Rs 50 lakh from him in return for ending the case. In such a situation, Imtiaz’s wife Saiba Anwar came forward and advocated the case for three years. He collected all the evidence and evidence and handed it over to the police. After this, the truth of Vikas came out. In October 2023, the police registered a case against him for extortion and filing fake cases against people and sent him to jail.
Who complained about selling the car?
Even after this, Saiba continued fighting against him. He himself has complained to the SSP about selling the car from jail. In the complaint letter, he has told the police that despite being in jail, Vikas has sold his Fortuner car worth Rs 45 lakh. In such a situation, RTO department employees will also come under investigation. At present, after getting the approval of the District Magistrate, the police had registered a case against Vijay Kumar Sinha under the Gangster Act. In this case, Vikas is in jail again since last May 7. His wife Rekha Singh has also been arrested for cooperating in this work.

RTO enforcement Sanjay Kumar Jha said that for transfer of the vehicle, the seller has to give his consent in Form 29-30. If someone is in jail then he will contact the jailer and make a demand as per the procedure. The jailer will inform this to the RTO office and further action will be taken accordingly. At present no demand letter has been received for transfer of the vehicle from the jail. In this regard, SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover said that a complaint has been received from the jail itself about the gangster selling the car. This is being investigated. During investigation, police will take strict action against whoever is found guilty in this process.
