The Supreme Court directed the Varanasi district administration to clean the sealed drains of the Gyanvapi complex. In the meeting of both the parties on January 18, the district administration decided that the sealed bathroom will be cleaned on January 20 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and both the parties agreed to this.
Along with strengthening the security, the parties, advocates and cleaning staff also reached the premises.
The Muslim side considers the designated area of Gyanvapi as Vazu Khana, while the Hindu side is claiming the same area to be the Shivalinga. Following the court order, this area has been completely sealed for more than one and a half years. Following the order of the Supreme Court, it is being cleaned today from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
Consensus reached in the meeting of both the parties
Hindu side’s advocate Sudhir Tripathi, who reached Gyanvapi regarding cleanliness issue, told in the conversation that on January 18, in the presence of all the parties and advocates under the Varanasi district administration, it was decided that on January 20, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. By 10 o’clock, the premises of Gyanvapi’s Seal Vaju Khane will be cleaned. The dirt from the pump machine to the entire seal complex will be cleaned. Apart from this, dead fish will be removed by the employees of the Fisheries Department. The live fish will be handed over to the Muslim side on demand. Both Hindu and Muslim parties have expressed mutual consent on this matter.
Increased security outside Gyanvapi campus
As per the order of the Supreme Court and the decision taken in the meeting of the District Administration, Municipal Corporation employees, Fisheries Department employees, District Administration officials, parties and advocates of both the parties started arriving before the scheduled time. During this period, the security arrangements outside the Gyanvapi campus were further increased. In such a situation, the stir in the city regarding the 2-hour cleaning to be held today is also strong because it can be claimed that some other evidence and evidence can be found from this sealed bathroom too.
In the month of December, a letter was written to the Varanasi district administration on behalf of Anjuman Antazaamiyan Masjid, which included a request to remove the dead fish and clean the seal waju mine of the Gyanvapi complex. After this, in the month of January in the new year, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain had filed an application in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Hindu side.
