Lucknow. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is trying to retain power in Uttar Pradesh, on Friday released another list of candidates for the elections to be held for the formation of the 18th Legislative Assembly. The names of 91 candidates are in this third list released from the BJP headquarters.
The names of the candidates of Lucknow are also not in the third list of the Bharatiya Janata Party. There are still screws on many seats in Lucknow. Along with this, there is still doubt on the seat of the Speaker of the Assembly, Pandit Hridaynarayan Dixit in Unnao. Dixit is the MLA from Bhagwantnagar of Unnao. He won consecutive elections in the formation of the ninth to the 12th assembly, after which he got success in 2017.
The BJP has yet to give many seats to allies in the state. Suspense has been created in about one or two seats in many districts of BJP in the state. There are many seats in these from Mau and Azamgarh to Ballia. After Samajwadi Party, BJP has also fielded candidate from Kunda in Pratapgarh against independent strongman MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya. Sindhuja Mishra will challenge Raja Bhaiya here. Former minister Anupama Jaiswal has been made the candidate from Bahraich Sadar of Bahraich. Bharatiya Janata Party’s state spokesperson Shalabh Mani Tripathi has been declared the candidate from Deoria. The BJP has given preference to the old face from the Kadipur reserved seat of Sultanpur. MLA Rajesh Gautam is also the candidate from here this time.
Baijnath Rawat’s ticket cut from Haidergarh in Barabanki
The Bharatiya Janata Party has cut the ticket of Baijnath Rawat, MLA from Haidergarh in Barabanki. Dinesh Rawat has been fielded in his place. With this, three people have got another chance. The party has fielded a new candidate from Barabanki Sadar and Haidergarh. Sharad Awasthi from Ramnagar, Sakendra Pratap Verma from Kursi, Satish Sharma from Dariyabad, Arvind Maurya from Sadar, Dinesh Rawat from Haidergarh and Amrish Rawat from Zaidpur.
In Azamgarh, BJP fielded candidates on six out of ten seats
In Azamgarh, which is considered a stronghold of Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party, BJP has declared candidates for nine out of ten Vidhan Sabhas. Satyendra Rai from Gopalpur, Akhilesh Mishra from Azamgarh, Manoj Yadava from Nizamabad, Krishna Murari Vishwakarma from Didarganj, Neelam Sonkar from Lalganj, Manju Saroj from Mehnagar. Among the old faces are Akhilesh Mishra Guddu and Krishna Murari Vishwakarma. Manju Saroj, who was the candidate of Subhas in BJP and Subhasp alliance from Mehnagar in the year 2017, is now the face of BJP. The BJP has not yet fielded anyone from the only seat Phulpur-Powai. The Samajwadi Party has given ticket to Ramakant Yadav, father of BJP MLA Arunkant from here. Neelam Sonkar will contest elections for the first time to become an MLA. She was elected MP from BJP in the year 2014 from Lalganj reserved seat. At present, he is the state vice-president in the BJP organization.
