Lucknow. In the parking lot opposite Gate number seven of Vidhan Bhawan in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Daroga Nirmal Kumar Choubey committed suicide on Thursday. The inspector was shot in his chest by a service pistol. According to Police Commissioner DK Thakur, a suicide note has been recovered from the inspector. In the note addressed to the Chief Minister, Daroga wrote that ‘I am troubled by the disease. I am going Chief Minister, take care of my children ‘. In the suicide note, the inspector has written about suicide by getting fed up with the disease. However, he did not mention which disease he had.
Daroga Nirmal, posted at Banthara police station, was originally from Palhi Patti, Chaubepur village of Varanasi. He lived here with his family in Chinhat. On Thursday, his duty was on Vidhan Bhavan. At around three o’clock in the day, the policemen and other people present there ran towards him after hearing the sound of firing in the parking lot in front of gate number seven. The lieutenant was lying in the parking lot and his service pistol was lying on the ground. The policemen informed the high officials about the incident and took Nirmal to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Commissioner of Police DK Thakur and Joint Commissioner of Police Law and Order Naveen Arora reached the Civil Hospital and inquired about the case. After this, the family members of Nirmal were informed.
Recruitment was done in the year 1987
Nirmal was admitted to the post of constable in the PAC on 15 August 1987. He had been working in security at different places for a long time. He was posted at Banthara police station in the year 2019. According to Inspector Banthara Jitendra Pratap Singh, Nirmal was mentally disturbed. He also took a medical leave due to illness.
Forensic team investigated
The forensic team took Nirmal’s service pistol during the investigation at the scene of the incident. Not only this, the suicide note has also been preserved. The Commissioner of Police says that with the consent of the inspector, his duty was imposed on Vidhan Bhavan.
Papa was upset for a long time
Nirmal lived in Chinhat with wife Nirupama and sons Vikas and Sarvesh. As soon as Nirmal’s suicide was reported, Nirupama became unconscious, which was taken over by her sons. Vikas told that Papa was upset for a long time. He was also undergoing treatment, but did not get relief. Nirmal has three younger brothers Pradeep, Atul and Anil.
