New Delhi. The civil defense personnel gave false information to the police to protect themselves when they were fired from a pistol brought by a friend at the Neb Sarai police station area. The police have registered a case against the civil defense worker and his wife after the truth came to light in the investigation of the incident. The accused youth is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital. The youth has been identified as Sujit Kumar. Deputy Commissioner of Police of South Delhi District Atul Kumar Thakur said that the firing was reported in the Indira Vihar area of Neb Sarai police station area around 11 am on Wednesday. The police, who reached the spot, got information that Sujit, a young man, had been shot. He is admitted to AIIMS.
Sujit was told by the police that he was standing outside his house, when three youths came from the bike and fired on him. The police team interrogated the CCTV footage and locals engaged but the incident could not be confirmed. During this time the wife of the victim’s youth was also absent from the spot.
Police had detained three local youths at the behest of the victim, who reported that the young man had brought a pistol from a friend and was showing it. Following this information, the police searched the victim’s wife. The victim’s wife said that the young man had brought a pistol from a friend, who suddenly went and got injured. He had created a false story to escape from the police. The police have registered a case against the young man and his wife in the case.
Youth charged in murder and weapon possession
Police officials said the accused went to jail in 2016 in a murder case. He was released from Dasna jail on bail in the year 2019. The Ghaziabad police has also filed an Arms Act case against the accused youth. The accused was working as a civil defense worker in Delhi.
