Sunny Deol’s much awaited film Jaat has hit the theatres today i.e. on 10th April. South director Gopichand Malineni has once again capitalised on the form of Sunny Deol, which was seen in the films of the 90s. Roaring on the screen and beating up enemies in anger, Sunny Deol has made a solid comeback as a Jaat once again after Gadar 2.
Before the release of the film, there were speculations that this film will be included in the list of this year’s biggest opening films Chava, Sikandar and Sky Force and may also become the fourth biggest opener. The initial figures related to the film’s earnings today have come out, so let’s know whether the film lives up to these expectations or not.
Box office collection of Jaat
Jaat has earned Rs 9.46 crores till 10:45 am on the opening day. According to Koimoi’s report, it was estimated that the film could earn Rs 10-12 crores on the first day. Well, there is still time for the final data to come. Once the final data comes, it will be clear at what number the film is coming in the list of Chava (33.10 crores), Sikandar (30.06 crores), and Sky Force (15.30 crores). For now, the film has secured the fourth position.
Jaat broke the records of these films
Jaat has broken the opening day collection records of all the Bollywood films released this year except Chava, Sikandar and Sky Force. This list includes films like Azad, Emergency, Deva, Badass Ravikumar, Sanam Teri Kasam re-release, Crazy, The Diplomat, Loveyaapa, Fateh and Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
Jaat’s competition with the film of its own production house
Jaat has been made by the production house Mythri Movie Makers, which made Pushpa 2. Another Tamil film of the same production house, Good Bad Ugly, has also been released today. Ajith Kumar is in the lead role in this film. So far, Good Bad Ugly has earned more than Rs 28 crore, while Jaat has been able to earn only one-third of it.
However, such an opening is not bad for Jaat because Jaat has the audience of the Hindi belt, which Good Bad Ugly does not have. Still, two products of the same production house are seen standing against each other.
How is Jaat (Jaat Review)
After creating a ruckus with Gadar 2 in the year 2023, it seems that Sunny Deol has once again come to storm the box office. This is not our opinion but the thinking of the reviewers about the film. Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Saiyami Kher and Ramya Krishnan have played important roles in the film. Many websites including Mint have said that the budget of the film is around 100 crores.
