BSP chief Mayawati’s niece Alice has filed a dowry harassment case against seven people including her husband and mother-in-law. On the court’s order, an FIR has been lodged against her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, elder brother-in-law, sister-in-law and maternal uncle in Hapur police station. Victim Alice’s mother-in-law is the chairman of Hapur Nagar Palika. She had contested the election from BSP. Victim Alice told that her in-laws threaten her that your aunt is the head of BSP, she has a lot of money. Arrange for a flat and 50 lakh rupees. When she refused, they abused her. Beat her badly and threatened to kill her. They said that if she told anyone, the consequences would be bad. She would not be able to show her face to anyone.
Alice also made a shocking revelation. Alice said that her husband Vishal used to build muscles by taking steroid injections even before marriage, due to which he has become impotent. The in-laws knew this from before. Despite this, they got her married. When the victim talked to her mother-in-law and sister-in-law on this issue, they said, “If you want a child, get it from your brother-in-law.”
Married in Delhi in 2023, asked for a flat in Ghaziabad
BSP chief Mayawati’s family has a total of 9 siblings. The victim Alice is the daughter of Naresh Kumar. She was married to Vishal Singh on 9 November 2023 in a hotel in New Delhi with Hindu rituals. It is alleged that some days of the marriage were good, but later the husband and in-laws started pressuring her for dowry.
Husband Vishal, father-in-law Shripal Singh, mother-in-law Pushpa Devi, brother-in-law Bhupendra alias Monu, sister-in-law Nisha, sister-in-law Shivani and maternal uncle-in-law Akhilesh started harassing her for dowry. According to the victim Alice, the in-laws were demanding a flat in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad and Rs 50 lakh.
Beaten in the room on 17th February
In the complaint, the victim Alice said that on the night of 17th February, her father-in-law Shripal Singh and brother-in-law Bhupendra alias Monu forcibly entered her room. Beat her badly. The victim somehow escaped from the room and saved her life. Her father-in-law and brother-in-law threatened her. They said, “If you do not get me 50 lakhs and a flat, we will not let you and your family show their face anywhere. Now your aunt Mayawati has no public support. Now you cannot do anything to us.”
When the SP did not listen, she took refuge in the court
On 18th February, the victim called her parents and lodged a complaint in the police station, but due to the influence of her mother-in-law Pushpa Devi, the police did not take any action. On 21st March, the victim sent a complaint letter to SP Hapur by registered post, but did not get any reply from there either.
On 24th March, the victim Alice filed a petition in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Hapur. On 8th April, the court ordered to register a case against the accused. On Thursday, a case was registered in Hapur Kotwali against Alice’s husband Vishal Singh, father-in-law Shripal Singh, mother-in-law Pushpa Devi, brother-in-law Bhupendra alias Monu, sister-in-law Nisha and sister-in-law Shivani.
Kotwali in-charge Munish Pratap Singh said that investigation of the case has been started. Further action will be taken after investigation. Police have registered an FIR against the accused in Hapur Nagar Kotwali under sections 85, 115 (2), 352, 351 (2), 74, 75, 76, 3, 4 of BNS.
