KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant, who will be India’s wicketkeeper in Champions Trophy? Gautam Gambhir confirmed

Before the Champions Trophy 2025, Team India played a three-match ODI series against England. This was the last ODI series for Team India before the Champions Trophy to be played in 50 overs format. Through this series, the Indian team must have decided the playing eleven for the Champions Trophy somewhere. Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant did not get a chance in all three matches of the ODI series. Now it seems impossible for him to get a chance in the Champions Trophy. Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has made this clear somewhere. Talking to the media after the ODI series against England, Gautam Gambhir said that KL Rahul is the number one wicketkeeper and he has performed. Apart from this, the head coach said about Pant that he may get a chance when the time comes. Gambhir said, “Ultimately it is very difficult to talk about any one. But I can say that if he is part of the team, he can get a chance when the time comes. But right now, obviously KL Rahul is the number one wicketkeeper and he has performed for us.” Gambhir further said, “When you have two wicketkeepers in the team, you cannot play both the wicketkeepers with the quality like us. Hopefully when he (Rishabh Pant) gets a chance, he should be ready for it. This is all I can say right now. Yes, KL is the one who is going to start.” Rahul’s performance in the ODI series against England Rahul came to bat at number 6 in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series played against England, in which he scored 02 and 10 runs respectively. Then in the third and final match of the series, Rahul came to bat at number five and scored 40 runs in 29 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six.
