Hyderabad: If a team loses the match by 25 runs despite scoring 262 runs, then you can imagine how tremendous the match would have been. Sunrisers Hyderabad had set an impossible target for Royal Challengers Bangalore by scoring the biggest score in IPL history i.e. 287 runs at the loss of three wickets. When all the RCB batsmen returned to the dugout, the magic of Dinesh Karthik was seen. Dinesh Karthik, who was in great form, played a stormy innings of 83 runs in just 35 balls. Even though he could not lead his team to victory, he reduced the margin of defeat for RCB by batting explosively and hit the longest six of the season i.e. 108 meters.
108 meter long six to Natarajan
RCB’s score after 15 overs was 187/6. The team needed 101 runs in five overs to win. The responsibility of the 16th over was on the shoulders of T. Natarajan. Dinesh Karthik hit the ball bowled on the pads line in the air towards mid-wicket. After hitting the bat, the ball directly hit the roof of the stadium and fell down. This was a 108 meter long six. That means the longest six of the season. Apart from Karthik, Faf Du Plessis scored 62 runs in 28 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. Virat Kohli gave a fast start to the team by scoring 42 runs in 20 balls.
SRH won in a match full of records
On the basis of Travis Head’s aggressive century and captain Pat Cummins’s excellent performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 25 runs in the IPL match on Monday. Apart from Head’s first T20 century, Heinrich Klaasen scored a blistering 67 runs, with the help of which Sunrisers scored 287 runs for three wickets, setting a record score in the history of the tournament. In reply, RCB team could score only 262 runs for seven wickets. Cummins took three wickets for 43 runs on a lifeless pitch. Karthik hit a total of five fours and seven sixes in his innings. In this IPL match, 549 runs were scored in 40 overs which is a record.
