An MP MLA court in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh has framed charges against 4 people including Mukhtar Ansari in the famous Usri Chatti murder case. Manoj’s father Shailendra Rai had filed a case against Mukhtar and others in the Manoj Rai murder case that took place on July 15, 2001. After the charges are framed, the next hearing of the case will be held on January 30.
Mukhtar’s advocate Liaquat Ali, while talking to media persons, informed that the father of Manoj Rai, who was killed in the Usri Chatti murder case in July 2001, has filed a case under sections 147, 148, 149 of IPC against a total of 10 people including Mukhtar Ansari in 2023. A case was registered under sections 302 and 34. While hearing this entire case, the Additional Sessions Judge in MP MLA Court has framed charges against 4 people including Mukhtar.
During this hearing, Mukhtar was presented in the court through video conferencing from Banda jail itself. Three other accused in this case are currently lodged in Ghazipur jail. These accused include Chanda, resident of Sant Kabir Nagar, Sarfaraz and Afroz, resident of Basti. All three accused were presented in the court during the hearing. In the presence of all four in the court, the Additional Sessions Judge framed the charges and also released the date of the next hearing.
There was another accused in this case who has already died. Liaquat Ali told that his name was Kamal. While there are two other accused namely Shahabuddin and Ataur Rehman, both of them are currently absconding as per police records. Three accused have already taken a stay from the High Court in this case. For this reason, charges have been framed against only 4.
