Lucknow. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has expressed happiness over the decision of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He welcomed the decision sarcastically. In fact, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing the metro, has directed to take cooperation of the private sector in expanding metro services.
The Chief Minister said that the private sector is also eager to cooperate in this. Keeping in view the need of the capital, he also gave instructions for expansion of Lucknow Metro. Said that DPR should be prepared for the new phase of metro from Charbagh in Lucknow to Vasant Kunj via Chowk.
While reviewing the Lucknow, Agra and Kanpur metro in a meeting held at his residence 5 Kalidas Marg on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the suitability of underground/elevated for the expansion of the metro should be tested. Prepare and submit the proposal as soon as possible. This phase will connect a large population with state-of-the-art urban transport facilities.
Meanwhile, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, while reacting to this decision, wrote on the X, ‘Better late than never’. CM Yogi said that work on two phases of metro each is going on in Kanpur and Agra. There is no dearth of funds for any project of public interest. The funds should be released on time. Complete projects within the stipulated time frame with communication and coordination. He also gave instructions to encourage electric buses and e-rickshaws in Gautam Buddha Nagar and 17 municipal corporations.
