Haryana emerged as the first finalist of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023. Haryana has qualified for the first time for the final of Vijay Hazare Trophy, a 50-over tournament played in domestic cricket. Haryana, captained by Ashok Menaria, defeated Tamil Nadu by 63 runs in the semi-finals and secured a place in the finals.
Haryana team displayed excellent performance throughout the tournament. The team did not lose any match in the group stage of the tournament. Haryana defeated Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chandigarh, Mizoram, Delhi, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir respectively in the group stage matches. After this, Haryana defeated Bengal in the quarter-finals and made it to the semi-finals. Then by defeating Tamil Nadu in the semi-finals, they secured a place in the finals.
The final match will be played in Rajkot on Saturday, 16th December. Haryana defeated Tamil Nadu in the semi-finals in Rajkot itself. The first semi-final of the tournament was played between Haryana and Tamil Nadu. After this, the second semi-final will be played between Rajasthan and Karnataka on Thursday, 14 December. The team that wins the second semi-final will face Haryana for the title match.

In the semi-finals, Haryana won the toss and decided to bat and scored 293 runs for 7 wickets on the board in 50 overs. Himanshu Rana played the biggest inning of 116 runs for the team, which included 11 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from this, opener Yuvraj Singh scored 65 runs with the help of 7 fours and 1 six.
Then, while chasing the target, Tamil Nadu was bowled out by Haryana bowlers for 230 runs in 47.1 overs and won by 63 runs. During this period, Anshul Kamboj took maximum 4 wickets for Haryana. Apart from this, Rahul Tewatia got 2 wickets. Whereas Sumit Kumar, Nishant Sindhu and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.
