Recently, the team’s chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq had resigned. Now the bowling coach resigned after the team was out of the tournament. Morkel is a former South African fast bowler. Very poor bowling was seen from Pakistan in the World Cup being hosted by India. Haris Rauf, one of the main fast bowlers of the team, had made a shameful record of conceding the most runs in a single edition of the World Cup.
Regarding the bowling coach, Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement, “The PCB will soon announce his replacement. “Pakistan team has to play a three-match Test series from December 14, 2023, which will end on January 7, 2024.”
Pakistan’s condition was very bad in the tournament
Pakistan started the tournament with a win. Babar-led Pakistan team had defeated Netherlands by 81 runs in the first match and Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the second. However, after this the team had to face defeat in four consecutive matches.
The team lost the matches against India by 7 wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium, against Australia by 62 runs, against Afghanistan by 8 wickets and against South Africa by 1 wicket. Although after this the team defeated Bangladesh and New Zealand in the next two matches, but then suffered defeat at the hands of England in the last match.
