Meerut. Police arrested Gaurav Gupta, the main accused in the death of five employees in the explosion in an illegal firecracker factory. Police claim that Tay gun pellets were manufactured in a plastic factory. The explosion was caused by the chemicals kept for that purpose.
The relatives of the deceased, who arrived from Bihar, allege that Gaurav Gupta was forcibly making firecrackers. The employees had also informed their relatives about this over the phone. He was threatened that if he left work midway, he would be sent to jail on charges of theft. He demanded the harshest punishment for Gaurav.
The relatives sat on the road late in the evening demanding compensation. When the jam was imposed, the police removed it with batons. However, it was later explained that the compensation process has been started. They will get compensation amount soon. The detained people were released. Sanjay Gupta had a three-storey building in Lohia Nagar.
It was given on rent to Gaurav Gupta, Udayraj and Alok Rastogi. Gaurav was making firecrackers illegally under the guise of a plastic factory. The entire building collapsed due to the explosion on Tuesday morning. Five workers from Bhojpur (Bihar) died in the blast. On Thursday his relatives reached here to collect the dead body. The administration assured to bear the cost of transporting the dead bodies to Bihar and the police assured to bear the cost of the last rites.
CO Amit Rai said that during interrogation, Gaurav told that Ty used to make gun pellets. The explosion was caused by the chemicals used in it. However, the police are not believing Gaurav’s words. He is under interrogation. Police is raiding in search of building owner Sanjay Gupta.
