Kanpur. The state government is making continuous efforts to control crimes against women and children, but the Commissionerate Police is sabotaging the government’s efforts. On Monday, all the documents related to crime against children and women were found lying in the dustbin in the Police Commissioner’s office.
When the media informed Police Commissioner Dr. RK Swarnkar about the matter, he went to the spot, got the documents taken out and ordered an investigation. Based on preliminary investigation, two policemen attached to CWC (Child Welfare Committee) have been suspended.
Confidential documents found in dustbin
Police Commissioner Dr. RK Swarnkar was inspecting the office on Monday. At the same time, the attention of media persons fell on the documents lying in the dustbin kept in front of DCP West office. Many such envelopes were seen among the documents which had not been opened. All confidential envelopes in rape cases were sent from the police stations to the concerned branch in the Police Commissioner’s office.
When the Police Commissioner passed by, media persons informed him. The Police Commissioner went near the dustbin and took out all the documents. Among the documents in the dustbin, there were many confidential envelopes, which were not even opened to see what kind of report they contained.
Action will be taken against the culprits
The Police Commissioner called Joint Commissioner of Police Headquarters Neelabja Chaudhary and DCP Headquarters Tej Swaroop Singh to the spot and ordered investigation. The Police Commissioner said that investigation is being done and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
In the afternoon, based on the preliminary report of Joint Police Commissioner Nilabja Chaudhary, the DCP Headquarters suspended the reader of the Child Welfare Protection Branch and a woman policeman.
