New Delhi. Every cricket fan eagerly waits for the India-Pakistan (IND vs PAK) match. There was a clash between the two in the league stage of Asia Cup 2023, but due to rain the spectators could not enjoy it to the fullest. Therefore, ACC has kept a reserve day for the match between the two in the Super-4 of Asia Cup (Asia Cup 2023) to be held on September 10. If the match is stopped due to rain, then the match will start the next day i.e. on 11th September from the same place from where it was stopped.
While keeping a reserve day in the India and Pakistan match, many cricket fans have supported this decision. At the same time, some have criticized it. Fans say that this is ignoring the rules. Also, injustice has been done to the other two teams (Sri Lanka and Bangladesh). However, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board have supported the decision.
Sri Lanka and Bangladesh supported
Sri Lanka Cricket wrote on its X handle, “ACC had discussed with other member countries to keep a reserve day in the India-Pakistan match of Asia Cup Super-4. “After consultation, the rules were changed considering the circumstances.”
At the same time, Bangladesh Cricket Board also supported ACC and wrote, “A reserve day has been kept for the India-Pakistan match in Asia Cup Super-4. ACC had taken consent from all the four teams for this decision. After this, Asia Cup The cup position has been effectively modified.”
It is noteworthy that ACC has taken this decision in view of the bad weather in Sri Lanka. Let us tell you that there was a clash between the two countries in the Asia Cup on 2 September. However, the match could not be completed due to rain and the match was cancelled. Now once again on September 10, both the teams will face each other.
