Bareilly: A 50-second video giving proof of beach vandalism in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Three youths tied a young man behind in a scooty and dragged him far away. Several passers-by saw the victim crawling on his stomach but no one came forward to save him. Video on Friday (Dainik Jagran does not verify the veracity of the video.)
Police started investigation
After it was broadcast on internet media, police started investigation. Scooty’s number is not clearly visible in the CCTV footage. Now the police is looking for some other CCTV footage of the same road, so that the identity of the accused and the reason for the incident can be known. The incident was recorded on July 25 at 4.30 pm in a CCTV camera installed outside an establishment at Holi Chauraha in Bareilly.
Its footage reached some people through the establishment owner. He demanded action by tweeting to the Bareilly police on Friday. Three youths riding a scooty are seen in the video. A young man was crawling behind. Both his hands are tied with rope. The other end of the rope was held by the young man sitting at the back of the scooty. The victim’s youth is trying to escape.
In an attempt to escape, he kept the chest part up, but he kept on crawling on his stomach. Inspector Abhishek Singh of Baradari police station said that he has seen the footage, but could not identify the accused. The face of the victim is also not clearly visible. Some more CCTV footage is being collected so that the accused or the victim can be identified.
