Lucknow: The four-storey Alaya Apartment located on Wazir Hasan Road in Hazratganj, Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, suddenly got filled late on Tuesday evening. There were 12 flats in this four-storey building. After the accident, 15 to 20 people are feared to be buried under the debris, because the repair work of the building was going on when the accident happened.
However, no one had any idea of the collapse of the building. This accident has happened suddenly. At the same time, on receiving the information, teams of SDRF, NDRF and Fire Brigade reached the spot, which are engaged in rescue work.
Rescue teams engaged in relief work have so far taken out 9 injured, whose condition remains critical. Here, as soon as the news of the accident was received, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is going on in full swing and the injured have been shifted to the hospital.
Saving people is a big challenge for us: Deputy Chief Minister
Giving information about the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the building was of four storeys. Seven people have been pulled out from the debris of the collapsed building, who have been sent to the trauma center of the civil hospital in an unconscious state. He said the biggest challenge right now is rescuing people, but it is difficult to estimate right now how many people are trapped under the debris.
Basement work in progress
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, people told that 30-35 families lived in the building. The work of building a basement was going on in the building, for which drilling was done. The building collapsed at around 7 pm after work stopped in the evening. Pathak said that as soon as he got information about the accident, he immediately directed the SDRF, NDRF and the police for relief work and he himself reached the spot.
On receiving the information, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has also instructed the teams of SDRF and NDRF to speed up the relief and rescue operations. Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Yogi has wished the injured to get well soon.
A total of seven people were injured
As per the updates till now, the work of repairing the pillars and making the basement was going on in the building. At the same time, a child is also included in the injured, who was immediately rushed to the hospital. Till the time of updating the news, seven people have been reported injured. At the same time, a woman has been recovered safely. There has been no official confirmation of any death in the accident yet.
Is there an earthquake somewhere?
Significantly, about five hours before the Alaya apartment accident, earthquake tremors were felt in many areas from Nepal to North India. It was told that due to this earthquake, there was a crack in the building being repaired. Due to this, earthquake is also being considered as a factor in this building accident. However, what caused the accident is still a matter of investigation. At present, the relief work is going on.
