Rampur. The court has now imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on SP National General Secretary Azam Khan, his MLA son Abdullah and wife former MP Dr. Tazin Fatma. The court took this action during the hearing of the case related to two birth certificates. No one from the Azam family appeared in the court in the hearing held on Thursday. His advocate also did not appear. On this, the court has ordered the hearing to be held on Friday and the accused side to appear personally while imposing the damages.
Earlier, on December 15, in the same case, the court had also imposed a compensation of five thousand rupees. An FIR was lodged against Azam Khan by BJP MLA Akash Saxena at Ganj Kotwali, in which the BJP MLA has accused Abdullah of getting two birth certificates made with different dates of birth. Apart from Azam Khan, his son Abdullah and wife are also named in this. The hearing of this case is going on in the MP-MLA Special Court (Magistrate Trial). Prosecution is giving evidence. Witnesses are coming on every date.
On Thursday also, Inspector Kishan Avtar and Narendra Tyagi, who discussed the case, reached the court for testimony. Prosecution officer Amarnath Tiwari and BJP MLA’s personal advocate Sandeep Saxena came to the court. Witness statements were made, but no advocate appeared for the accused side for cross-examination. None of Azam Khan, his son or wife appeared during the hearing. He sent an application for condonation of his appearance, while his advocate sought time by giving an adjournment application.
BJP MLA’s advocate Sandeep Saxena said that while rejecting both the applications, the court imposed a compensation of Rs 10,000 on the accused side. Also, while fixing the hearing again on Friday, the accused side has been ordered to appear in the court personally.
