Lucknow. Prisoner Vishambhar Yadav, who came to Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University for treatment from Shahjahanpur District Jail, escaped late Tuesday evening at around 7:30 pm by dodging the police personnel deployed in security. He was admitted to KGMU’s Shatabdi Hospital here and was suffering from cancer.
Prisoner Vishambhar was brought to King George’s Medical University’s Shatabdi Hospital on October 20. Since then he was admitted here. Inspector Chowk Prashant Mishra said that the prisoner Vishambhar was a resident of Phulbehar in Lakhimpur. Two soldiers were stationed in his custody. A soldier was found on the spot. Vishambhar had left the ward on the pretext of leaving for a short time. After that he did not return. When the prisoner did not return, the soldiers kept searching for him but he was nowhere to be found.
It was informed at the police station late in the night. Three teams have been formed in search of the prisoner. Soon he will be caught. However, the case has not yet been reported. On receipt of Tahrir, action will be taken against the prisoner and the police personnel posted in custody by registering a case. The information about the incident has been given to Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur police. The teams there have also started searching for the murdered prisoner. Apart from this, CC cameras are being scanned on the main road, bus station and railway station.
The constable had given information to the Chowk police after five hours: The prisoner Vishambhar has run away from Shatabdi Hospital at around 7:30. The police personnel in custody did not immediately inform about his escape. He should first keep searching for the prisoner himself. When he was not found till late night, his information was given to the police station at 12:30 pm. After this the police team reached the hospital and started the search for the prisoner.
