Rampur. On Friday, in search of a safe stolen from the municipality 17 years ago, the police raided the resort of SP’s national general secretary and city MLA Azam Khan. The search operation was carried out for a long time. The police questioned the staff here, but the safe could not be found.
Municipality’s cleaning machine was found in Jauhar University
Police raided Azam Khan’s Jauhar University recently. After digging there, the cleaning machine of the municipality was found. Apart from this, the police had also found stolen books and cupboards from Madrasa Alia from here. Regarding the cleaning machine received from Jauhar University, the Municipal President had given a statement that it does not belong to the municipality. On this the police started investigation. The police arrested two employees while burning the records of the municipality. He was sent to jail. The police had registered an FIR against four, including the municipal head Fatma Zabi, for destroying the records.
There was no recovery in Humsafar Resort
On Friday, the officers along with the police force raided the Humsafar resort. Deputy District Magistrate Sadar Nirankar Singh and Circle Officer Nagar Anuj Kumar Chaudhary arrived with the force of Ganj and City Kotwali. A search operation was conducted for about an hour, but no objectionable material could be found. During this, Ganj Kotwali in-charge Surendra Singh Pachauri and city Kotwali in-charge Gajendra Tyagi were also present with the force.
Municipal vault was stolen in 2005
Municipal Officer Anuj Chaudhary said that the safe was stolen from the municipality in 2005. In this, 11 lakh rupees were also included in the salary of the municipal workers. It was learned that this safe was kept in the resort. A raid was conducted here in search of this, but the safe could not be found. Significantly, at that time Azam Khan was the Minister of Urban Development. A week ago, in this regard, the then Municipal President Reshma Bi had met Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kunmar Singh and demanded to find out the safe.
