Etawah. Due to continuous rain in Etawah and adjoining districts of UP for the last 24 hours, 6 people died due to wall collapse at two places in the district.
The first incident took place in Chandrapura village of Civil Lines area where four children sleeping with their grandmother under the tinshed were killed when a mud wall of the house collapsed. All four are siblings. These include Sinku 10 years old, Abhi 8 years old, Sonu 7 years old, Aarti 5 years old.
Their parents had died 2 years ago, the children were living with their old grandmother. The 75-year-old grandmother Sharda Devi and 4-year-old boy Rishabh were slightly injured. After getting the information after the accident at 2 pm, the police reached the village and sent them to the district hospital.
The second accident is of village Kripalpur of Ikdil police station, here also the elderly couple died due to the fall of a raw wall. These include Ramsanehi age 65 years, his wife Reshma Devi age 63 years. District Magistrate Avnish Rai SSP Jaiprakash Singh inspected the spot.
District Magistrate Avnish Rai said that in Chandrapura, the relatives of the children would be provided with approved assistance by the government. He informed that all the schools in the district have been closed for three days and all the schools will remain closed till September 24. Due to incessant rain since late night, life is miserable.
