New Delhi. After the poor performance in the Asia Cup, Team India will have a big responsibility to complete its search for the perfect XI in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Before the World Cup, the team has to face the team of Australia and South Africa and a big news is coming out quoting BCCI sources. Actually Shikhar Dhawan will lead Team India in place of Rohit in the 3-match ODI series against South Africa. The above information was given by a BCCI source while talking to ANI.
Sources were quoted as saying that this would be done to give rest to the players involved in the T20 World Cup. The 8th season of the ICC T20 World will be played in Australia from October 16 to November 13. Also, VVS Laxman is likely to join the team as a coach in the absence of head coach Rahul Dravid.
Before the T20 World Cup, Team India will play a 3-match T20 and ODI series against South Africa. The first 3 T20 matches will be played, which will start from 28 September. The first T20I will be held on 28 September in Thiruvananthapuram. The second T20I will be held in Guwahati on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2022, while the last T20I will be held in Indore on October 4.
This will be followed by a 3-match ODI series, which will begin on October 6 in Lucknow where Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team. Ranchi and Delhi will host the second and third ODIs on 9 and 11 October respectively. Before this, Team India will also play a 3-match T20 series against Australia, which is starting from 20 September.
Was out in Super 4 in Asia Cup
Before the T20 World Cup, the team was knocked out of the Asia Cup after suffering two consecutive defeats in the Super 4 stage in the Asia Cup. The team first lost to Sri Lanka and then were knocked out after losing to Pakistan.
