Barabanki. A truck rammed into a double-decker bus parked on the roadside on the Lucknow-Bahraich Highway. Four people, including the driver who was changing the wheel of the bus, died in the incident, while ten people were seriously injured. Of these, two people in critical condition have been referred to Lucknow. This bus was going from Nepal to Goa.
This road accident took place on Saturday morning at 3:30 in village Mahgupur of police station Ramnagar. When the wheel of the bus got punctured and the driver was changing the wheel by stopping the bus. A total of 60 passengers were on the bus. All of them were going from Nepal to Goa. The police, who reached the information of the accident, took the injured to the CHC, where four people were declared dead, eight people are undergoing treatment at the district hospital, while two passengers have been referred to Lucknow Trauma Center in critical condition.
The incident happened near Ramnagar and Masauli border, police of both the police stations reached the spot and rescued them. By morning, the traffic was smoothened by shunting the vehicles. Additional Superintendent of Police North Purnendu Singh said that other passengers of the bus are being sent back to Nepal by another vehicle.
Names of the dead: Prem Tharu, resident of Vinona Rapti Surari under police station Dhampur in Banke district of Nepal, Chakra Bahadur Bali, resident of village Bindapur under Tulsipur police station of Dang district and one unknown who has not been identified.
Name of the injured: Krishna resident of Tulsipur of Landang district, Chandra Bahadur Rawat resident of Dhampur Rawati Surari in Banke district, Rita Kumari Tharu, resident of Rampur police station of Bardia district, Amar Bahadur, resident of Rapati Sukti of Dhampur police station of Banke district, Phalang police station of Rukum district. Kali Bahadur, resident of Solawan, Haribharan, resident of Dumri police station area of Tanau district.
Minor injured: Sunil Tharu, resident of Dhampur in Banke district, Vijay Tharu, Hariogi, Padma Rana, resident of Ghuiyan Beri in Salyan district, Kal Bahadur Rana, Manoj, resident of Dhampur in Banke district Hari Sharan and Manmati Kaur, residents of Dungri police station area of Tension district.
