Bijnor. Bijnor Murder News: A major incident took place in Bijnor. A priest of the temple was brutally murdered on Friday night. The killing of the priest caused a stir in the area. A 70-year-old priest of Manokamna Mandir, located near Kho Barrage in Sherkot on Haridwar-Kashipur National Highway, was murdered in the early hours of Saturday. The incident came to light when some women reached the temple at 4 am. Senior officers had also reached the spot.

Manokamna Temple is situated on the banks of Haridwar-Kashipur National Highway at some distance from the barrage of Kho river in Sherkot. 70-year-old Begram was working as a priest in this temple for the last 20 years.
Temple main gate was closed
He lived with his wife Javitri Devi. Begram was originally a resident of village Puraina Abdul Rehmanpur of Thana Noorpur. Every day four to five local women come to Manokamna temple at four o’clock in the morning to clean and serve the temple. Even those women reached in the early hours of Saturday, but the main gate of the temple was closed. Usually, the priests used to open the temple gate at around three o’clock. After not opening the gate even after knocking several times, the women reached near the room located adjacent to the temple.
The priest was in a bloody state
The priest’s wife was sleeping. When the wife Javitri Devi woke up, the women told about the gate not opening. When all the women reached the verandah of the temple through the inner door of the room, they saw that the priest was lying in a bloody state. He was taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.
Three teams of police were formed
On information, heavy force including DM Umesh Mishra, SP Dinesh Singh, local MLA Ashok Kumar Rana reached the spot. SWAT team, surveillance and field units were also called on the spot. The SP said that three teams have been set up to uncover the murder case. It is suspected that some drug addict has entered inside with wrong intention. Every aspect is being investigated.
Found a stick stained with blood, no evidence of robbery
At the same time, SP East Omvir Singh said that a blood-stained stick was also found on the spot. There have been several blows on the head of the priest. He told that no evidence of any incident like looting has been found in the temple, the main door was also locked from inside. The priest slept in the verandah inside the main door and his wife was sleeping in the room adjacent to it. A Shani temple is also situated adjacent to the verandah, whose walls are quite small. It is feared that the attacker may have entered the temple from there.
