Lucknow. Popular Front of India (PFI) active member Nooruddin Jangi alias Advocate Nooruddin was arrested by a joint team of ATS and Bihar Police from Alambagh on Saturday. The accused used to advocate active members of PFI. Nooruddin and his associates were preparing to disturb the Prime Minister’s proposed tour program in Bihar. They were also being given training for this.
ADG ATS Naveen Arora said that the Superintendent of Police of Patna had written a letter seeking help in arresting the accused. A team of Bihar Police had come to Lucknow. The team shared information about the accused. After this, ATS nabbed Nooruddin from near Mawaiya railway station in Alambagh. Nooruddin was staying here in Charbagh, a Muslim traveller.
During interrogation, the accused told that in the year 2015, he had come in contact with Sanaullah, the District President of PFI Darbhanga. He then joined PFI and SDPI and has been an active member since then. In the year 2020, Nooruddin also contested from Darbhanga assembly seat under the banner of SDPI. The accused then got six hundred votes. The accused told that he had obtained LLB degree from CM La College, Darbhanga in the year 2017.
He used to advocate the cases related to the members of PFI and SDPI in different courts through advocates. Bihar Police has already arrested the accused’s accomplices Athar Parvez and Jalaluddin. Other incriminating material including pamphlets, flags and booklets related to PFI were recovered from the accused. Bihar Police is investigating about the other accomplices of the accused.
