New Delhi. Often social media influencers say such things jokingly, for which they have to pay a heavy price later. A few days ago, Youtuber Elvish Yadav made fun of Bigg Boss 18 finalist Chum Darang’s name and made a racist comment on her while talking to Rajat Dalal in his show ‘Foodcast with Elvish’, against which Karanvir Mehra and Chum Darang reprimanded him for his comment.
There was a demand for action against Youtubers for using objectionable words like this. Some time ago, FWICE had demanded legal action against Ranveer Allahabadia as well as Elvish Yadav for racist comments made on Chum Darang. Now after them, recently Arunachal Pradesh State Women’s Commission (APSCW) has filed a complaint against Elvish Yadav and demanded action against him.
Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Commission filed a complaint with NCW
The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Commission on Tuesday filed a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW), demanding action against Elvish Yadav for making objectionable and racist comments on Chum Darang.
In this complaint, APSCW President Kenjum Pakam has accused Elvish Yadav in a letter sent to NCW that in a recent viral video, the social media influencer has made derogatory comments against former Miss Arunachal and Bigg Boss contestant. She says that with such comments, Elvish Yadav has insulted not only Chum Darang, but all the women of the North East. It will create fear in the dreaming women of North East
In her complaint, she further wrote, “Elvish Yadav’s comment on social media has not only damaged Chum Darang’s reputation but has also affected the women of North East. This kind of behavior and objectionable statement creates fear in the women of North East who want to fulfill their dreams by joining Bollywood film industry, but their dream is not fulfilled”.
In its complaint, Arunachal Mahila Aayog also expressed concern about such situation and demanded action from the National Commission against this racist comment of Elvish Yadav and also asked to give justice to Chum Darang and the sentiments of the society.
